🗡️ Project Overview 🗡️
For Alteah, a medieval-themed city-building survival game, I was responsible for key aspects of the game’s sound design, with a focus on creating immersive and responsive audio systems that supported both the gameplay experience and the game's atmospheric tone.
Music system
One of my main contributions was the development of a dynamic music system. This system was designed to transition smoothly between different scenes and gameplay states, enhancing the emotional pacing of the game. I implemented this system using coroutines and audio fade-in/fade-out logic, ensuring that music cues were contextually appropriate and transitioned naturally as the player progressed through different areas or gameplay phases. This helped reinforce the game's tone and pacing without interrupting immersion.
User Interface
In addition to music, I also created a wide range of user interface sound effects, which were critical for conveying player interactions and providing feedback across the management systems. These UI sounds underwent multiple iterations, guided by consistent feedback from the development team, to ensure they felt intuitive, polished, and aligned with the overall audio aesthetic of the game.
Summary
Together, these elements contributed to a cohesive audio experience that supported both the strategic gameplay and the medieval atmosphere of Alteah.
